Your profile gives Sofie practical context about who you are and what kind of work you do. It does not replace the sources you add to chat, but it can help Sofie interpret your role and preferences. Open the user menu, choose Account Settings, then use the Profile tab.

If your organization manages identity through single sign-on, some identity fields may be controlled outside Sofie.

Set personal information

Use Personal Information to tell Sofie how to address you and what role context to assume. Good examples:
FieldGood value
NicknameSam
Job TitleQA deviation reviewer
Function/DepartmentQuality Assurance, sterile manufacturing
Avoid vague values such as manager, operations, or user when you can be more specific.
Role context helps most when it describes the work you review. MSAT tech transfer lead for biologics manufacturing gives Sofie more useful context than MSAT.

Choose interested tasks

Use Interested Tasks to mark the work types you expect to use often. Available task interests may include:
  • Tech Transfer.
  • Risk Assessment.
  • Report Drafting.
  • SOP Alignment.
  • Document Generation.
  • Regulatory Insights.
  • Change Control.
  • Protocol Authoring.
  • Process Mapping.
  • Ideation.
  • Proposal Development.
  • Summarize Documents.
Choose the tasks that match your normal work. You can update them later as your role changes.

How profile context differs from Memory

Profile fields describe who you are. Memory and Directive settings describe durable preferences and rules. Use profile fields for:
  • Your name.
  • Your role.
  • Your department.
  • Your task interests.
Use Memory or Directive for:
  • How you want outputs formatted.
  • Recurring source-review rules.
  • Preferred terminology.
  • Standing instructions for document drafting.
  • Repeated review patterns.
Example:
Remember that I prefer deviation summaries to separate confirmed facts, assumptions, source gaps, and SME questions.

Change password

If password sign-in is enabled, the Change Password section may show:
  • Current Password.
  • New Password.
  • Confirm New Password.
Use a unique password that follows your organization’s requirements. If single sign-on controls your access, password changes may happen outside Sofie.

After profile changes

After you update profile information:
  • Start a new chat for work that should use the new context.
  • Update related Memory or Directive settings if your preferences changed.
  • Confirm account details before sending or preparing external communications.
