Sofie Guide lets Sofie search the official Sofie documentation while you are chatting. Use it when you want help with Sofie features, workflows, settings, or terminology without leaving the chat. Sofie Guide is different from Workspace search and Web search. It searches Sofie documentation, not your private Workspace files or the public web.

When to use Sofie Guide

Use Sofie Guide when you need to:
  • Learn how to use a Sofie feature.
  • Compare two Sofie features, such as Search and Workspace search.
  • Find the right product surface for a task.
  • Get instructions for Plan Mode, CoDraft, CoSheet, CoMeeting, Workspaces, Orchestrations, Saved prompts, Memory, or Directives.
  • Ask Sofie to cite documentation links in the answer.
Do not use Sofie Guide for:
  • Searching your Workspace files.
  • Reviewing attached documents.
  • Getting current public information.
  • Analyzing a CoDraft, CoSheet, or CoMeeting.
Use Sources and search for those source paths.

Open chat

Start a new chat or open an existing conversation.

Open search settings

Click the sliders control in the chat input.

Enable Sofie Guide

Turn on Sofie Guide.

Ask a documentation question

Ask Sofie how to use a feature, where to find a setting, or which workflow to choose.
When Sofie Guide is enabled, the sliders control shows Sofie Guide as an active setting.
Sofie remembers the Sofie Guide toggle in your browser. Turn it off when your next question is about project work, attached files, or Workspace sources instead of product documentation.

Ask good Sofie Guide questions

Ask the question the same way you would ask a teammate. Good prompts:

Read cited answers

Sofie Guide can return documentation-backed answers with source links. Use those citations to open the docs page and review the full instructions. Ask for citations when the answer will guide team training or an internal SOP:
Sofie Guide helps you find product documentation. It does not make product behavior available if your organization has not enabled a feature or if your account does not have permission.

Use Sofie Guide with other chat controls

You can combine Sofie Guide with normal chat instructions. Example:

Save Sofie Guide prompts

If you ask the same documentation question often, save it as a Saved prompt. A Saved prompt can keep the Sofie Guide toggle, model choice, context, and attachments that were part of the prompt. Good candidates:
  • Team onboarding questions.
  • Standard “which Sofie surface should I use?” prompts.
  • Reusable training prompts for Workspaces, CoDraft, CoSheet, CoMeeting, or Orchestrations.
  • Internal help desk prompts that need documentation citations.
Review Sofie answers before using them for regulated, quality, clinical, or controlled-process work. Product documentation can explain how to use Sofie, but your team owns final source review and process decisions.
