The Microsoft Teams integration lets you message Sofie in a personal chat or mention @Sofie in a team channel or group chat. Sofie uses your linked Sofie account when responding to your requests. Your administrator must set up and distribute the Teams app first. Teams must be enabled for your Sofie deployment.
1

Open a personal chat with Sofie

Add the Sofie app made available by your organization. Send Sofie a message in a personal chat to request your account link.
2

Review the account link

Open the link within 15 minutes. Sign in to Sofie if prompted. Check the Teams tenant, Teams identity, and Sofie account shown on the page.
3

Confirm the connection

Click Link this Microsoft Teams account only if both accounts belong to you.
4

Send your request again

Return to Teams and message Sofie. You can check your connection on Sofie’s Integrations page under Messaging accounts.

Message or mention Sofie

Use a personal chat for individual work. In a team channel or group chat where Sofie is installed, begin with @Sofie and your request.
Continue in the same conversation thread after Sofie responds. With the required Teams permissions, you can send follow-ups without repeating the mention. Use @Sofie to start a new channel conversation. Each person who asks Sofie to act must link their own account. If you first mention Sofie in a shared conversation, Sofie directs you to a personal chat to link your account. After linking, mention Sofie again.
Channel and group-chat participants can read Sofie’s replies. Use a personal chat for sensitive work. Sofie links retain their normal access permissions; posting a link does not grant access to everyone in Teams.

Attach a file in a personal chat

Attach a supported file to your personal chat with Sofie and describe the task.
Use no more than 10 attachments per message and 75 MB total. Individual limits are 50 MB for documents, 10 MB for images, and 25 MB for supported audio or video. Sofie copies accepted files into the Sofie conversation to work with them.
Attachments require a Teams app package at version 1.2 or later. File access in Teams channels and group chats is not included yet. Use a personal chat or Sofie web chat for file work.
If Sofie reports that a file is unavailable, check the reason in its reply. Reattach it in a personal chat or continue in Sofie web chat. Ask your administrator to update the Teams app if attachments are unavailable.

Open results in Sofie

Ask Sofie to prepare work and include links to the results.
Open Sofie’s links to review or edit artifacts and download files. If an action needs an approval or interaction in Sofie’s web app, follow the conversation link and continue there. Review outputs before sharing them or using them in controlled processes.

Understand Teams capabilities

Teams chat connects requests to your Sofie account. Slack conversation research and messages sent as your Slack identity are separate Slack capabilities. Connecting Microsoft 365 email, calendar, OneDrive, or SharePoint is also a separate user connection. See Connected apps for those workflows.

Manage your connection

Open Sofie’s Integrations page and find Microsoft Teams under Messaging accounts. Click Disconnect to remove your personal identity link. The organization’s Teams installation stays available to other users. To link again, message Sofie in a personal chat and complete a fresh account link.

Troubleshooting

Ask your Teams administrator whether the app has been uploaded and made available to you. Organization policies can restrict custom apps.
Sign in to the Sofie account that owns the connection and disconnect it on Integrations before linking it to a different account. Ask your administrator for help if you cannot access that account.
Continue in the same thread. Ask your administrator to check that the current app package and its conversation-message permissions have been installed. You can mention Sofie again while they investigate.
Ask your administrator to check the Teams tenant, Azure Bot configuration, and connection health. Linking your identity does not configure the organization’s bot.
